Balloon-A-Palooza - 2007/03/28 07:48 Hello everyone

Balloon-A-Palooza 2007 is just around the corner. Last year's event was a huge success with more than 16 balloon artist, about 110,000 Betallic Balloons and over 12,000 attendees. The theme is "Bedtime Stories" bringing all those fairytales we learned as kids back to life in balloons.

This year we are going to do something very different, The Balloon-A-Palooza Designers' Challenge. Balloon artists will choose their own fairytale sculpture to create.

I'm so exited about this. We will be giving away $1,500 to 1st place - $500 to 2nd Place - $250 for 3rd Place. The general public, in attendance at the event, will do voting for the best sculpture.

All prizes are cash money.

in addition to the big sculpture competition we will have the Battle of the artists. This will take place on opening day, with a live audience. To make it more exiting we will provide each contestant some materials in a box and they will need to design & build a sculpture out of those materials. Contestants will have an opportunity to win some more materials for their sculpture.

Balloon-a-Palooza Set up: Nov 10- 16
Competition: Nov. 12-14
Open to the public: Nov. 17-26
Registration fees: None, Nada, Zip, Zilch. Zero.

I will be offering free consultations to all the competitors that need help with framing and or other things.

Feel free to blog and discuss with others options and ideas for this competition.

Re:Balloon-A-Palooza - 2007/11/20 01:29 Thank you to Carmen, the producer, and Betallic and all the other sponsors for participating in the Balloon-a-Palooza event. I stayed in Milwaukee a total of six nights and met some awesome people from around the country, learned some invaluable lessons and developed some sweet skills!! Many participants stayed around the clock and put in loooong hours. There were many taped fingertips!!

I'm looking forward to the photos. And let's not forget, three cheers for the return of Mother Goose!!
